FABA 2016

Dear participants,
This symposium had been held every two years since 2003 at a national university or research institution, but in 2014 it was turned into an international biennial meeting that brings together colleagues from all around the world working on fisheries and aquaculture. We are pleased to organize “International Symposium on Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences” (FABA) at Mediterranean Fisheries Research Production and Training Institute (MEDFRI) between 03 and 05 November 2016 in Antalya, Turkey.

The main research themes will be; “Fisheries Biology and Management, Aquatic Biodiversity, Aquaculture, Fish Diseases and Treatment, Water Quality Monitoring and Management, Seafood Processing Technology, Biotechnology and Genetics”.  The aim of the symposium is to form an environment with a large perspective to share and discuss research, developments and technologies related to fisheries, and to provide an opportunity for researchers from different countries and cultures to interact with each other.
In Turkey, important activities in fisheries have been carried out to abide by the international agreements as well as to utilize the present resources. These activities are evaluated at national and international meetings. Topics to be presented and discussed in line with the abovementioned themes and aims are expected to open new horizons in the science.  
Selected papers of FABA 2016 will be published in Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (TrJFAS) and Journal of Academic Documents for Fisheries and Aquaculture (JADFA). TrJFAS is a refereed academic journal and indexed byWeb of Science. JADFA is an emerging peer reviewed journal in the science and published every four month.
