Sualti dunyasi hakkinda bilimsel veya populer projelerinizi uluslararasi
ortamda sunmak; Turkiye ve KKTC ile butun dunyadan bu alanda fikirleri olan
diger arkadaslarinizla tanismak isterseniz 5 Mart 2011 tarihine kadar
basvurunuzu bekliyoruz.
Kisisel veya takim halinde katilabileceginiz bu yarismanin on elemesinden
secilen 10 takim KKTC'de DAU tarafindan misafir edilecek, sunular 17-18 Mart
2011 tarihlerinde yapilacaktir. Etkinlikler ayni zamanda 7.Sualti Festivali
ve 5.Sualti Arastirmalari Sempozyumu ile ayni tarihlerde oldugu icin butun
dunyadan duayenler ile tanisma ve zaman gecirme olanagi da bulabileceksiniz.
Projelerinizi Turkce veya Ingilizce olarak hazirlayabilir, sunabilirsiniz.
Projenize veya kendinize yeterince guvenmiyor olsaniz da ilk adimi atip
hazirlayiniz ve yollayiniz. Sizin icin basit gelebilecek - hayata
gecirilebilmesi cok utopik olmayan- bir proje juri icin cok ilginc olabilir.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT COMPETITION ON UNDERWATER RESEARCH
17-19 March 2011
SESSIONS
The main thematic areas and major topics of the Project competition are as
follows
• Archaeology and history
• Medicine and first aid (Diving safety, first aid, diving physiology, etc.)
• Living resources (Underwater visual census, behaviour of organisms, etc.)
• Ecology and environment (Coral reefs, artificial reefs, marine pollution,
etc.)
• Technology (Developments in diving technology, equipments, undersea
vehicles, etc.)
• Engineering (Platform & marine systems design, construction, installation,
etc.)
• Communication and media studies (Education and careers in underwater
technology, underwater documentaries, etc.)
• Photography (Photography and visualization at underwater research, image
interpreting, etc.)
• Tourism (Commercial diving, underwater games, recreation, ecotourism,
tourist submersibles, marine aquariums, museums, etc.)
• Geology and earth sciences (Coastal zone management, underwater marine
mapping, navigation, etc.)
If your project is similar to them, please send your subject by e-mail
before the application.
RULES
The registration will be finished on 20 February 2011.
Projects can be developed by individuals or a team. Each team member can
register more than one project and projects can be in any category of the
competition. Each team can be represented by maximum two persons who will be
considered as team leader(s).
Please complete the schools details, team leader details (full name, email,
and function), project details (project name, team name, project description
category) and team members (full name and contact data) on the form.
Projects have to confirmed by the university (Faculty, department, centre,
club etc)
Project must be qualitative as a scientific research and must be original.
They must be aplicable and realistic. Possible budget, research field,
images, maps, coordinates and other necessary knowledge have to planned in
the Project.
10 teams will be invited to competiton presentation on 17-19 March, 2011.
All accomodation will be paid by EMU.

All competitor names have to written capital. Name of the institiuon has to
written under the competitor names.
Min 1 e-mail and telephone of the competitor have to written under the first
page.

HOW TO COME?
How can you come to North Cyprus?
There are flights from U.S., England and Germany to Ercan Airport of North
Cyprus by Cyprus Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines. You may find very
available ticket prices with the early reservations.
There are indirect flights from everywhere via Istanbul to Ercan. (Ercan
airport is just 25 minutes far to EMU.)
There are also flights from many airports to Larnaka airport of South
Cyprus.
(Larnaka airport is 40 minutes to EMU)
We will bring you from both airports or Girne harbor if you send your exact
flight details 10 days before the competition.
*One of our students will be your friend to show the life at EMU and
N.Cyprus and also to answer your questions.
